Illustrator 27.7 repeatedly freezes my iMac when Ventura tries to verify the app

Upon first open of Illustrator after updating to version 27.7, Mac OS Ventura (v13.4.1) runs its verification of the app, but just beyond halfway through it gets stuck, then my whole system freezes, my mouse cursor disappears, Force Quit is unresponsive, and the only thing left to do is manually power everything down and restart.

Workaround for the time being was to uninstall Illustrator, then install v27.6.1. Ventura had no problem verifying this version of the app, and now I'm back up and running. I'll be waiting for the next version before updating again. Hopefully Adobe will get its act together and include a patch for this issue.

Hi @hellothisisjeff,

We are sorry to hear about your experience. We've released Illustrator v27.8.1, which includes various updates and improvements. Also, macOS Ventura has been updated to v13.5. We recommend updating both Illustrator and your operating system to see if the freezing issue persists. If you encounter any further problems, please let us know, and we'll be here to assist you.

Best,

Anshul Saini
