Illustrator 28.1 apply text recognition to multiple words at once

I frequently import pdfs generated by plotting software which results in all fonts getting converted to outline. I was so excited to see the new retype feature but it takes forever to convert 50 words to live text one at a time. After running "retype" many words are outlined but I can only select one at a time to convert to editable text. Is there a way to do many outlined words at once? If not, would Adobe consider adding that to the next release?
