Illustrator 30.0 lagging on MAC OS Tahoe 26.1

I won't write much. This issue has been contanstly talked about on the forums and on reddit for the past 3 months, which has been flagged by the developers.

Hopefully, we will see a compatibility fix between illustrator and mac os Tahoe very soon.

All I ask is the developers update us on the current situation regarding this issue.

Experiencing terrible lagging with Illustrator 2026 30.3, almost unusable.

Have tried ma y suggested fixes but no improvement. I have a relatively new MacBook GPU and M3 chip custom with loads memory etc and  latest Tahoe update  but Illustrator is leaking memory to the max. How can software be so bad. Are the developers doing any testing before launch? I am thinking of alternative software if this is not fixed very soon as I cannot getting anything done due to the poor performance..

Enshitification i guess. The best suggestion from support was: “Reinstall your computer.” I'm so fed up with this crap!

On a custom Mac with plenty of memory, Intel.

Illustrator  v 30.3 this week since Sunday, was trying to consume 129GB memory which resulted in huge swap file being written to disk which then resulted in the whole Mac dying. Obviously zero testing is being done before products versions are being released. I was creating a simple graphic design not a complex document.

It has not improved and I cannot get anything done with files. Every function I use takes 5-10 seconds if not more to render a change. Its insane. I am thinking of finding a new software like Affinity or Inkscape or something better than this.

Come on Adobe, Tahoe has been out for months and Illustrator STILL does not work properly. When opened it instantly maxes out the fans and runs att 104% of CPU on my M4. Just insane.

Hello @Folkis

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing more details, such as the exact versions of the OS/Illustrator installed, and a brief screen recording of the problem, so we can better assist you?

Also, try the suggestions in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/optimize-illustrator-performance.html) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Really? You're sorry to hear that? Your head should be exploding from all the complaints. When are you finally going to get this shit under control? It's pathetic. Go through the forums, do your homework and stop apologising with standard phrases. I apologise for taking out all my frustration on you right now, but I can't listen to this anymore. We all pay a lot of money for this software. So you'd expect that, in my case, a MacBook Pro with an M3 chip would work properly with your software, right?

@szymon_5776 I think it will always be an issue when Adobe updates an app, but then the OS for MAC or Windows or behind; or maybe it's the other way around... it's always playing catch-up with someone!

if they know there’s a Mac update surely Adobe would test the software with the new updates?
