Illustrator 30.2.1 / Windows 11: STRG-n does no longer work

All of a sudden, my Illustrator (version 30.2.1 (64-bit)) no longer reacts to STRG-n. Even moving the mouse to File/New ... [Click!] leads to no action. Weird.

    That helped! Thank you!

Should I be prepared to encounter any other changes due de-activating the original UXP folder?

    Hello @Klаus,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:

    - Close all Adobe applications.

    - Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following location:

    (Windows) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP

(macOS) Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

    - Relaunch Illustrator

If the problem persists, kindly share a screen recording of your workflow and the issue so we can investigate further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi @Klаus,

Glad to hear the steps helped resolve the issue. Renaming the UXP folder simply forces Illustrator to recreate a fresh one the next time it launches, so you shouldn’t expect any problems in normal use.

The UXP folder stores components used by Adobe’s Unified Extensibility Platform, which runs plugins, panels, and some UI features in Illustrator. If something there becomes corrupted, it can interfere with normal commands. Renaming it lets Illustrator rebuild those components cleanly.

Everything should continue to work normally after this.

If you notice anything unusual, feel free to let us know.
