Illustrator 30.6: Unable to Change "Transform Both" Setting in Transform Panel

Question

I just updated to illustrator 30.6 version and can no longer turn off the "Transform Both" option. Whether the chain icon is on or off, it scales both height and width. The drop down menu has the “Transform Both” option checked and will not allow me to uncheck it. Is anyone else having trouble with this? The only solution I found was to roll back the update to previous version.

Transform Both is not about Height and Width, but about the transform of objects and patterns.

The chain icon is about scaling both height and width to keep the proportions when entering values in the w and h fields.

If that's the case, that option itself isn't meant to be unchecked. Instead, you can switch between the three available transform modes, Transform Object Only, Transform Pattern Only, and Transform Both, by simply selecting the desired option from the menu.
