Illustrator 30.6 - Unexpected change to swatch assignments

Question

We have identified cases where Illustrator 30.6 may unexpectedly change color assignments after a file is saved and reopened.

The issue occurs when a swatch used by an artwork element is removed. Upon reopening the file, other artwork elements may be reassigned to different swatches.

I would like to know whether there is a way to make Illustrator preserve the original color values when a swatch used by an artwork element is removed, or whether this behavior could be a bug in Illustrator 30.6.

Could you provide some insight into this issue?

Are you removing the swatch on purpose or does that happen automatically when opening the file? What kind of swatches are they? In what kind of artwork elements have they been used?

Also: did you already reboot the computer and reset the ILlustrator preferences?
