Illustrator 3D crashes

Hello dear community,

i got a problem regarding the 3D rendering functions in Illustrator.

Every time I try to convert my paths into 3D, the app randomly closes. It doesn't freeze, it doesn't start rendering, it just crashes immediately.
I am running blender on my new laptop very well, it's a gaming laptop with very good performance and graphics card, so i am wondering how this issue can be resolved?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Kristina24824069zusk,

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience crashes. Would you mind performing a clean reinstallation of the GPU drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD) and setting the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-110) and checking if it helps?

Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Please tell us your hardware specifications.

What's in your file?

Is that a complex artwork?

How many anchor points?

Do you perhaps have a gaming driver installed for the graphic card?

Hello and thanks for your reply.
I have converted a font into paths, though it looks a bit weird when i click on in.

It does not have many anchor points though.
I use the HP Omen Gaming PC  and it runs HP OMen Gaming HUb, but i have closed that driver and tried it with it running and without.

Can you do this with a white text, please? It's not quite clear what you expect it to look like.

Also: how much RAM do you have installed? Is this jiust a part of the word? How long is it?

What happens, when you use the classic 3D effect instead?
