For this kind of problems and error I will contact Tech support and they will hopefully guide through to correct it.

You might need to uninstall completely including preferences

Also there might be a conflict with a font or any other programs you have. Tech support can detect it!

    Mac High Sierra 10.13.2

    Illustrator CS5.1

Unknown Error -108 comes up when I try to launch.

New computer, new Illustrator install about 2 months ago. Worked fine. Often got error messages upon close, but still worked fine.

I was able to open a new file, create a line of text (Myriad Pro font) and modify color. When I tried to save, the program crashed and all is lost.

I'm having the same problem that I can't launch my illustrator with the message "Adobe illustrator CC 2018 quit unexpectedly.

*** error for object 0x10ee83608: incorrect checksum for freed object - object was probably modified after being freed.

I just restart and open again, it shows "Adobe Illustrator was unable to identify the cause of the crash. Attempt to launch Illustrator again?"

    Which version?

    Which system?

    Did it ever work?

What exactly are you doing step by step? Launching it with a file?
