Illustrator anchor point

The latest Illustrator doesn't show the anchor points unless I move the cursor exactly above it and the handles can't be

Could you confirm the OS version, if this started happening recently, if this happens with all files, and a small screen recording of the problem, so I can try and replicate it on my end?

This is the most likely keyboard mishit of all, occurring when you try to use one of the surrounding keys with Ctrl/Cmd and nothing seems to happen until you try the second time; and then you forget about it, without having realized that something (else) did happen.
