Illustrator and Photoshop window resize for art preview

When working in either Photoshop or illustrator 2019 very 23.0.1 on my mac it occasionally stops showing the art for the file.  The tab opens and you can see it at the top of the window but the art is a blank gray screen. I've discovered if i slightly resize the window by dragging the lower right corner that the art appears and all works well from there.  I've also had this happen when switching from one open tab to another.  If I restart the application it seems to function properly but it's becoming a daily occurrence on my machine. Very irritation when opening multiple documents to work on as you have to slightly resize each window to see the art or quit and restart the app.
