Question

Illustrator Asset Export panel content disappears

Ill 21.0.0 /Win10 and/or OS X El Capitan

Prob: the assets in the Asset Export panel (alternately Export for screens > Assets) disappear after a few file saves. No content changes have been made to those assets (only other content in the file). Solution: unfortunately there's only the workaround to have to re-drag, rename and re-export all assets, which (mostly) negates the point of the panel. This could be "fixed" by allowing users to save the contents of the panel (as data to reload if something goes wrong).

Can someone from Adobe point to where I might be able to see or export the data itself from an older version of the file in an attempt to restore it? Again, the content of the assets hasn't changes but the assets have disappeared from the panel.

Hi Mark,

The exported Assets should not disappear automatically unless the saved file is altered. Also need to know if you are saving the assets on a network drive or locally in your system.

File is opened and saved locally. The only unique factor is that it's

periodically uploaded to Google Drive, downloaded, then re-opened. Is there

a way to export 100% of the panel data as a whole?

Hi Mark,

You can do that by using "Collect for Export" while exporting the assets. Please see :  Collect Assets and Export in Batches for more details.
