Question

Illustrator batch save data sets not working

When I try and batch save to PDF or JPG I end up with a single file.

I can see is run through each data set - but I end up with one file.

When it's running I can see the file being overwritten.

I tried all the File Name options but it just ignores them.

I have the latest version of Illustrator 27.5.

Hi @KU2020,

We are sorry for the delayed response. I understand that you're experiencing an issue with Illustrator's batch save data sets not working as expected. To help you resolve this problem, I recommend the following steps:

  • First, ensure that you have the latest version of Adobe Illustrator, i.e., v27.8.1. You mentioned using version 27.5, but newer updates may have addressed this issue.

  • Ensure that each data set has unique file naming options and output folders specified. Check if any of the data sets have overlapping or identical file names.

  • To troubleshoot the issue, try running the batch save with a smaller number of data sets or a reduced dataset to see if it behaves as expected. This can help determine if the problem is related to the number of data sets or other factors.

Please let me know if you've tried these steps and if the issue persists. Additionally, providing more details about your specific batch save setup and any error messages you encounter can be helpful for further troubleshooting.

Best,

Anshul Saini
