illustrator blank screen

Hello everyone,

whenever I open a new document or create one the display(second box) goes black with no options/sizes for illustrator and then when you click outside it says not responding.

Sorry for the long reply,

Recently at school we had to update our printer location and It change some setting but I manged to change the printer location back to Microsoft to pdf
