Illustrator Cant' Finish Previewing

I just updated to Illustrator 2020 and it's running super slow. In addition, I keep getting an error that says "can't finish previewing" and loads my file in outline mode. I have plenty of RAM, so that shouldn't be an issue. It also keeps crashing. Anyone have any solutions? Asking for a friend 😞

What system? What is real RAM size?

does it happen when some other Adobe app is running? Sometimes, when tasks are very complex, there is a fight between apps for resources (e.g. between Photoshop and Illustrator). If so, try to stop another app and look at the situation.

Hi Anna,

 

Thank you for your response. It is happening on macOS Mojave and I have 16 GB of RAM.

 

It was happening when I had others opened, so I quit them and restarted and it was working. I just didn't have this issue before so I thought maybe it had something to do with the upgrade. I appreciate your help!
