Illustrator CC 2017/18 - Looking for dimensioning plugin OTHER THAN CADtools

Hi everyone.

I currently use HotDoor CADtools 3rd party plugin for dimensioning in Adobe Illustrator.

All I ever really use is the simple 'Height / Length' dimensions to lay down simple dimension lines for logos and objects.  I do not, nor will ever, need any of the myriad other functions available in this program.

I have been a long time CADtools user, but am finally fed up with what I think are pricey upgrades, given that I use only a fraction of it's capability.  The latest upgrade has increased to $239...... with the full software program at $379  To me, HotDoor is getting too pricey for what I need it for.

I wish they would offer a CADtools 'Light' version for simple dimensioning and callouts at a more reasonable rate.....but they don't.

I have tried JGL - (I cannot figure out how to get it to display in English) and another one (forget the name).  Neither allowed me to dimension using 'smart guides'..... but rather, would only measure from 'anchor point' nodes.  I need something that can give me an overall 'vertical' measurement from left-most path line to right-most path line and the same with the height.

I also tried Astute's Dynamic Measure..... again, with no 'smart-guide' support currently.

Any good suggestions??
