Question

Illustrator CC 2017 21.1.0 crashes every time I copy any object

Illustrator crashes immediately after selected edit --> copy on any object.  Alt-drag works.  Crtl+c does nothing.  I have seen some other posts related to this on the forums but I have not seen a resolution and/or gotten a response to replies.

So far I have done the following according to other articles:

1.) uninstalled/reinstalled AI (several times)

2.) updated graphics drivers to the latest version (NVIDIA M1000M using version 385.41)

3.) manually deleted all settings and preferences

4.) run the cleaner tool on all adobe products.

5.) completely uninstalled/reinstalled  ALL adobe products.

I believe that I have an enterprise license and when I did contact Customer Service, they said I did not have an active account.

PC is a Dell Precision 5510, Windows 10 AU, Intel i7, 16GB RAM

Laptop is corporately controlled so I cannot update to any more recent version of Windows 10.

Here is the error in the application log:

Faulting application name: Illustrator.exe, version: 21.1.0.326, time stamp: 0x58c20f65

Any help that you all can provide will be greatly appreciated.  I have exhausted all options that I have found in the forums and that google can find.

Thanks,

Eddie

Eddie,

are you  able to download an older version of Illustrator with your enterprise license, to use for a while?

I am attempting that now.  It will be interesting if that resolves the issue.

Hi Macheon479,

Since you have already tried the all the basic troubleshooting steps, please check version of OS

Go to Settings >About and check version

please check if your OS is Windows10, 1703 built.

If yes it's a known issue and Microsoft is already working on an update to fix this issue. In the meanwhile, you can uninstall the recent update and rollback to the previous version of OS (Microsoft Community )

Regards

Srishti

I am on the 1607 build I believe.  Whatever is considered the "anniversary update".  The issue is confirmed with the 1703 build and NOT the 1607 build?
