Thanks for the hotfix but it is still not usable:

    - CPU usage went down from 800% to 100%. Photoshop 2017 uses 0.1% idle.

    - Gatekeeper checks AI on every launch.

    Same problem. CPU @ 800%.

    Edit:

A restart made it worse. Now Illu crashes on start up.

Will uninstall. Can't work with beta software.

    So today I

    - deleted all preferences

    - restarted

    - repaired permissions

    - restarted

    - repaired permissions from recovery

    - restarted

    - nuked all font caches

    - restarted

    - uninstalled AI 2017

    - reinstalled AI 2017

with no effect. AI still uses 800% CPU and it won't go away. But it does not crash.

I'd love to have an Illustrator that actually works. AI 2014-2015 is a nightmare.

    Hi,

    Finally fixed the problem.

    The problem are FONTS.

This is what i did using Font Book:

    1. Exported all Fonts

    2. Reseted standard fonts

    3. Installed fonts again

    4. DO NOT install font's that have minor or major problems.

    Thank You,

This worked for me! Thanks for the suggestion. Went from 2,000 fonts to 300 and now the CPU usage is back to normal.

    KleantiX,

Maybe if you restart the computer, as mentioned by Ton in this recent thread:

    Hello Jacob,

Thank you for reply. Restarting doesn't fix it.
