Illustrator CC 2017 Bugs I have found so far

  1. Lines no longer have bounding boxes using the black selection tool. You must use the free transform tool unless you zoom in really closely.
  2. It is harder to change colors.  The CMYK values don’t show up readily.
  3. The clean print preview from CS6 is not default.  One must hit CTRL+E to set the best preview. This a waste of time.
  4. If you outline a stroke, you cannot assume that the two bottom points are at the same y-axis value.
  5. The Character Width option was moved to the right to match Photoshop’s Character tool-set.
  6. The Character panel pull down menus bleed into other panels as yu click them.  Thus, when you click a pull down option, you click into the panel beneath it, too.
  7. CC AI loses fonts randomly. You must close AI and restart it. Again, this wastes time.
  8. When I print to a saved postscript file, AI can’t remember where the file to be printed is located. The user must refind the location every time.
  9. Some of the line action and object movement actions created in CS6 will not work in CC.
  10. Dashed line actions and object movement actions don’t work in general in AI CC 2017.
  11. AI CC 2017 becomes flaky (problems selecting and setting transform panel options) and to fix this, you must close AI CC 2017 and reopen it. this wastes time.
  12. I'm using Windows 10 while having these issues.  If I switch from an app and then switch back into AI CC 2017, I must click anywhere in the app to get it to respond and then work as normal.  This issue is a Win10 issue, but the others are not as best as I know.

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting this list of bugs. Have you submitted these to our UserVoice page? Adobe Illustrator Feedback

This is the best way of communicating to the Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Best,

    Wren
