Illustrator CC 2017 will not start

Hi,

I am new to Illustrator and I really want to use it.  But the program won't start, it just gets stuck on either initialising or updating font menu. What I have tried:

Checked that verdana and tahoma fonts are installed

Reinstall of Illustrator

Reinstall of creative cloud

Uninstall using Adobe creative cloud cleaner tool and then installed it again.

Pls help!

You may try to look through and consider/try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name), especially items 1) and 11), maybe also 2), 8), and 16)..
