Illustrator CC 2018 Quits Unexpectedly

I was able to open Illustrator on my Macbook yesterday but for whatever reason it keeps crashing every time I try to open it today. I updated both my computer and Illustrator to try and fix the issue, but it still is not even opening and keeps popping up with "Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple." I've sent the report to Apple about 3 times now and have done "reopen" about 20 times now and it is still not opening. Any troubleshooting solutions? I've restarted my computer multiple times and shut it down completely then started it up again but no usual quick fixes seem to be working.

Updating to High Sierra for many people introduced problems instead of solving them.

You might try and rebuild the preferences.

I just had the same problem, but for me it wasn't the obvious 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file that was the problem.

If you read the report which the error message offers to send to Apple, you will find the file (and it's path) which is causing the problem. I deleted that file, (on the assumption that worst case I need to reinstall Illustrator) and it solved my issue.

Hope this helps any future Googlers

I had the same problem. For me it had to do with old wacom drivers. When I installed the latest drivers from wacom.com Illustrator worked again.

Cheers!

Did this get resolved for you? I'm having the same issue, and ALSO updated everything hoping it would repair the problem. Hasn't helped.

I would adjust preferences, except that I can't open Ai without it crashing, so I can't even get to preferences. Is there another way? Or a way to reach preferences outside of Ai?

So it's Illustrator CC2018.1?

And which Mac OS? Which one did you have when it still worked?

Yes the newest version of Illustrator CC2018. My Mac is now macOS High Sierra 10.13.3, I had 10.12 before I updated the system I believe (didn't think to check before I updated it). I had the issue before I updated everything and thought updating the application would help.
