Question

Illustrator CC 2020 keep crashing on Windows 10

hi fellow creative worker and artist,

recently, adobe updated my illustrator to 2020 version. (auto update running in background i guess)

i found this problem often :

illustrator freeze, can't save.

adobe CEP engine stacked in task manager.

the only way to end the issue, i forced close Ai in task manager.

windows 10 Home

core i7 8th Gen

16GB RAM

VGA GTX 1050ti

i hope Adobe is one of responsible company in this world, because i believe the subscription policy were pricey enough, to support their developers to keep fighting the bug. if not, CC2018 is stable enough and the crack is perfect already.

note : my coworkers who still using CC2019 found the same problem.

Hi Khalifah,

Sorry to hear about your experience. We thank you for providing all information in the post and previous response.
I'd recommend resetting the preferences once for the Illustrator. You may try steps provided on:

https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences
Let us know if it helps.
You may also share the crash logs with us using instructions given on:

Regards,

Ashutosh

Where doyou save files? On a server? Is it better when you save on the local disk?

There's a setting that allows saving in the background. Preferences > File Handling. Does it help when you turn that off?
