Illustrator CC 2022 Crashing Not Responding

Hey Guys,
I was forced quit my illustrator because my illustrator didn't respond to open the previous file. But when I tried to open a new file takes so a long time to open it, even when I create a new file and after waiting around 1 hour, it's still the same and stuck with loading.

I have tried to clear cache, update to the newest version, and also try restart repeatedly, but it is still the same. I can't start to open any file or create the new one and stuck on the first page when we open illustrator (screenshot of my activity monitor, attached) (device: MacBook pro-2018(15inch); Monterey)

May I know how to solve it? thank you so much

Hi @Monika Gause
Thank you so much for your suggestion, it works for me when I tried to remove all problem fonts in the font book and also reinstall again the illustrator.

Hello @Ahmad5E9E,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would like to know if the steps suggested above by Monika worked for you? If not, I would request you to share a few more details along with the ones asked by her:

  • The exact version of macOS and Illustrator
  • Please test and confirm if turning off the internet helps. (This is only for testing purposes and not a recommendation)

Also, here are the steps to troubleshoot problems with fonts as suggested by Monika, and share your observations with us.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hello @Anubhav M thanks for your help, it worked for me when I follow this suggestion, but for the font case because it took so long when I validate all fonts, so I decide to remove all problem fonts instead of validating them

THis happened after updating Illustrator?

Do you have any third party plugins and are they compatible with Illustrator?

Did you install any new fonts recently and are they 150% OK? Can you use Fontbook to check all your fonts?

Do you have a printer connected and turned on? Printer driver up to date?

Can you also try: reset the preferences (this will erase yoiur settings, so it might be a good idea to do it via renaming the preferences folder) https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html

If that all does not work: you can contact Customer Care and they can have a look at it https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
