Illustrator CC How to save Save for Web settings

When I click on File/Save for Web, I have several previously saved settings. However, I want to create a new preset, but I can't figure out how to save it.

It used to come up as "UnNamed." Now it comes up with my previous presets plus a bunch of default sets, but I can't save any changes I make to a new preset.

I did it several years ago, but now I am baffled.

How can I save a new preset in File/Save for Web (not Export) in Illustrator CC?

Not only can't I change the Optimize folder to not Read-Only, the .irs files for previously saved Presets are not there.

I have searched my computer, but cannot find any of them -- only the default presets. Could they be hidden under other names? My saved presets work, and they show up in the Illustrator Save for Web dialogue box, so they have to be somewhere.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Sorry about this trouble. Here the location where you can find Optimize folder in Windows: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 23 Settings\en_US\x64\Save for Web Settings\Optimize

As you mentioned that Save setting option is grayed out. Please close Illustrator and try to reset the preferences.

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Go to Location C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
  • Rename  Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Illustrator 23 Settings folders to Adobe Illustrator.old and Adobe Illustrator 23 Settings.old
  • Launch Illustrator from the Creative Cloud.
  • If that does not work, here is how you can get Read/Write permissions on Illustrator preferences folders: Preferences folder read-only error in Illustrator

Regards,

Srishti

You need to save them, quit and restart Illustrator before you can see them.

The "Save Settings" option is grayed out. It won't let me save any changes I make.

Do you have writing access to the Otimize folder?

Maybe reset your Preferences:
