Illustrator CC18 FAILS to save as

I want to report a bug: Save As acts like Save As Copy.

AI CC18 22.1 | macOS 10.13.3 with Dell secondary screen (which also has a functionality bug on AE). AI does not touch the secondary screen.

What hapens is AI creates a clone of the file with the dedicated filename, but keeps the original file open when I use command File - Save As. If I don't pay special attention I will mess of the original. This is fckg unacceptable. Adobe, get squared!

    Hi there,

    Sorry about the inconvenience. Could you please confirm where you are saving these files? If you are trying to save on Network location/ Server/ External HDD, please try saving it to Desktop and check what happens?

    If it still does the same thing, please try resetting preferences for Illustrator: How to set preferences in Illustrator
