Illustrator CC2017 Exporting all Artboards as half size!!!!

My work just switched us to CC2017, we were previous on CS6, maybe, something old.

Ever since the switch, when I try to export an artboard using Export, the file exports at half size, even though when I bring into Photoshop it says its at the correct size. The preview window in the export window shows it at half size. Don't just tell me to double my file size, because we are working with 72dpi banners than need to be exported at the exact size and if I do so they are pixelated.  I've been using Illustrator since the 90's and this has never been a problem. Please advise.

Ok I want to amend my above post...

I should have mentioned that I got a new computer, and it now has a retina display. Before I didn't have one.

It seems as if either Illustrator and/or the OS is automatically adjusting for retina-ready images by making the visible size of the exported image half size so its not appearing pixelated.

I also have an older monitor that's attached to my newer laptop and its not retina. So, I realized if I export the image on the old monitor, its not making the image appear half size. Its very confusing. Is there a way to turn this retina compensation off? I find this very confusing now. Id rather see a pixelated image at full size than have it automatically compensate and make it half size.

Can we see a screenshot of what settings you are using? If you are you export screens than yo need 1x, id export as, then screen 72 dpi.

What size is your artboard in pixels, what size do you want your file to be? There is a problem with the export being 1 pixel larger than the artboard, Adobe knows about this.

OK, well my settings were set to 1x, however, I solved the problem merely by clicking on 2x and then back to 1x. It works fine now. There must be a bug or a corrupt preference somewhere that caused this.

We're talking about web banners? Or large format printing?

What kind of size is it? Pixel dimensions?

Which export function exactly at which resolution?

Can you please be much more precise? Thank you.
