Illustrator CC2017... terminating with uncaught exception of type XMP_Error

Greetings,

I have developed a crash that I cannot get rid of. The crash does not happen every file but I do crash very often and only when I go to save-export.

I initially thought the problem was caused by the Extensis Suitcase plugin, I removed that.

I also tried removing some Esko plugins but the crash still persisted and have reinstalled the Esko items.

Has anyone else encountered this crash and found the solution?

Which system?

Where do you save your files?

Which filenames? Any non-ascii filenames?

Illustrator: 21.1.0

OS X 10.10.5

LAN

Simple ascii names, no special characters only letters, numbers, spaces and _ . We have been using the same naming scheme for many years.

Is that a Mac OS server you're saving to?

Saving to servers is generally an issue. For some people it works, for some it doesn't. Even if it has been stable for years, it might suddenly fail, when you exchange any part in the network.
