Illustrator CC4 keeps crashing - windows 10

Illustrator CC4 keeps crashing , it may have to do with something in specific files , but copying to new files and saving again doesn't help.

The program keeps closing down over the smallest thing I do , whether it is Select All , trying to change font , or dragging items within the sketch.

I am desperate as I need to finish a lot of setches and for the last hour I have seen Illsutrator close itself about 30 times. I have no idea how to fix this , and am a layman when it comes to Safe mode start ( which I tried but then I couldn't open Illsutrator as it says the licence isn't valid , which is nonsense as I bought it ) or other specific procedures.

What to do ???

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Monika is absolutely correct about the compatibility. CS4 was never meant to run on Windows 10. You may check the system requirements for CS4 on https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements-old-versions.html#main_Illustrator_CS4_system_requirements
In my personal opinion, you may try the Illustrator CC2020 to complete your work. Please click on https://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator/free-trial-download.html to do that.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh

CS4 is no longer compatible with Windows 10.

It's been built for Windows XP.
