Illustrator color management issues

I am having the classic problem of color management issues, which I can't seem to solve this time around.

I have a hex code I am using and it's looking much darker than it should be. My ai file's document color mode is RGB, the color settings are North America General Purpose 2, the assigned color profile is sRGB, proof colors is turned off, I have switched back and forth from view on CPU and GPU, and I have set the color settings on adobe Bridge to North America General Purpose 2 as well. I am using a macbook pro by the way.

Attached is a screenshot of the example. The hex code on the right is what I need to use (the color under it is an approximation closest to the correct color.) The colors on the left side is what the result is when I use the hex codes, which as you can see are much darker.

Any solutions for this? Feels like I'm missing something obvious.

Are you comparing one sRGB document to another? Or are the document color profiles different?

You can check the profiles at the bottom of your document window.

If the document color profiles and hex values are the same, the color should look the same.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
