Illustrator crash while using

Cant handle shadows... takes 3 years to save basic art... if it cant handle photos with a drop shadow then dont allow that... I am so sick of this stupid program... been a designer for 20 yrs... just keep getting worse with each new itteration... eff you illustrator and you too Adobe

Sorry to hear about the freezing. This is not the experience we want you to have. I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • The exact version of the OS and Illustrator
  • Since when are you facing this problem?
  • Is this happening after performing a specific action (save/copy/print/export etc.) or using a particular feature/tool/effects?
  • Have any recent changes been made to your computer (OS Update/ Antivirus/ Plug-Ins)?
  • Kindly submit the Crash Report by following the steps in this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html.
    While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.

 

Also, try resetting Illustrator's preferences by following the steps shared in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html) and sharing your observations.
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with the defaults. You may take a backup of these settings from the location mentioned in the article.

Sorry you're frustrated, but if that was a fair characterization of Illustrator, all us users were seeing those same problems. I work in Illustrator all day, every day, without a hitch for the most part. So please do calmly seek out support; it's likely there are solutions to your particular problems.

Illustrator only manages to even open 2 times out of 10. It constantly fails, won't open, freezes and generally is useless and has been ever since it's been in Creative Cloud. I think it's atrocious that we are forced to pay for such a subtandard excuse for software. I am so sick of it. 22 years a designer here!

Which version of Illustrator are you using? What operating system?

 

Also, can you share a sample Illustrator file that is causing the trouble?
