Illustrator crashes when creating offset paths on images

Hi everyone, I am using Illustrator to create die cut stickers. I have been using this for months with no issue, but recently I have been unable to do so because it crashes so frequently now. I am importing an image, duplicating the number of the image that I need, IE 100. Then, creating an offset path on each image.

Once I start duplicating the image, it becomes very laggy, and any attempt at an offset path causes illustrator to crash. Can anyone help? Thank you!
