Illustrator Crashing constantly

I have been using the most updated version of Illustrator 2025 and every 30 or so minutes, the mouse arrow has a loading circle on it and then crashes the app. I tried using Illustrator 2024 and it is doing the same thing. 

 

This has never happened before until now.

Is Photoshop open as well?

no, i don't have it opened. Also when it crashes it resets my preferences back to original so I have to go back in and change everything
