Illustrator CS6 - Exporting jpg logos with various sizes and resolutions
Hi all,
Hopefully CS6 still has a following and therefore help with problems. My issues can be broken down into 2 problems but kinda related.
I'm writing a script that will allow me to export files in various sizes. For example (300 px, 3 in, 1200 px, etc) and resolutions (72, 96, 144, 300 etc). Everything is going well and I'm almost there with it, but. Is there a way in script to get the resolutions that I want for jpg formats? I have png's doing what I want, though I had to resort to using imageCapture for that. This then led to issue 2 that I'm noticing, but in the past, don't seem to remember having this particular problem. The issue is, no matter how I export a graphic, changing the resolution from 72, 144, 300 or custom. When I look at the graphic in photoshop, it is always at 300 resolution. I have been through the web as well as reading any and everything that I can find but cannot find an answer or an explanation. I've played around with Object>Rasterize, Effect>Document Raster Effects, Export, nothing works and my graphic always shows at 300. With the help of Helen Bradley's video, I have an understanding of the calculations to get correct dimensions for artboards, just can't seem to get a handle on getting the proper resolution, either in script which is my goal, but also doing exports directly from within Illustrator as tests. I do hope this makes sense to someone and can provide some answers to my issue.
Thanks in advance,
Kazon
