Illustrator CS6 Font issue

Hello Illustrator Community.

I am a novice graphic designer just started using Illustrator a while ago and I turned on my laptop today and as I was trying to add type into a drawing I did not show the more than 3000 fonts I have installed in MS Windows. How do I rectify this? I have a project due on Monday.

    If it's Windows 10 then this is a known issue.

    I wonder if you're trying to use this ancient version on a system that is too recent. What is your system version?

    I have installed Fontbase which is free. I have activated several fonts to test. nothing shows up in illy. Other apps in my system work fine with the fonts drop down box. I have reinstalled, updated and restarted illy several times I'm STUCK!

    Also you need a font manager. That many fonts, all installed, just won’t work reliably.

    In order for Illustrator to recognize fonts they need to either be installed in the appropriate place on the computer’s system (Mac or PC) or activated by a font utility such as font explorer or suitcase.
