Illustrator CS6 & MacOS Mojave font redraw issue

Hi,

I've been running Illustrator CS6 for years now. Last week I upgraded my system to Mac OS Mojave (running on an iMac Retina 5k, 27" Late 2015). All the CS suite seems to run fine apart from a strange font issue in Illustrator. When I highlight a font to change it move it etc, I get the spinning beach ball and it becomes extremely laggy. I've a secondary monitor and oddly it seems to be ok on that one.

I've disabled the dictation preference, but that made no difference.

Before I go through the hassle of reverting back to 10.13, can anybody help?

Thanks, Gary.

If it really importend to update your OS to the latest, than you wil have to consider moving away from CS and go to CC.

Doing some more tests, this seems to be a retina display issue?

CS5 is not fully compatible. Nobody knows what exactly may break and how it can be solved. I assume you didn't reinstall Illustrator, just updated the system? Any kind of troubleshooting you do now can break Illustrator. And even rolling back to 10.13 might break everything (unless you did backup the complete volume and can just install the backup).

Hi Monika, it's CS6 i'm asking about and yes I have uninstalled Illustrator and reinstalled it. I've a Time Machine backup. I know it is no longer officially supported, but as this seems to be the only issue. I want to confirm there is not a solution, before I revert.

    Thanks, Andrew.

CS6 is only slightly better than CS5.

What kind of font is it? In case it's Type 1, you'd better just uninstall it. The system doesn't like them anymore.

Do you use font management - is it compatible with both the system and Illustrator?

Can you check your fonts for corruption?
