Illustrator CS6 "shut down unexpectedly"

CS6 Illustrator brings up "shut down unexpectedly" dialog box when i shut it down. How do I fix that?

It starts ok and shuts down ok, but after it brings up the dialog box "illustrator CS6 shut down unexpectedly".

This could happen when the Preferences file cannot be written. Check user privileges on the machine.

OK. Sierra has some problems in itself. And it might not be fully compatible with CS6.

But please check the Access privileges. Crashes on Shutdown are usually caused by this.
