Illustrator cut and pasting with different stroke weight and corners

I do technical drawings and I cut and paste simple objects dozens of times a day like I have for 25 years. Suddenly for no reason my pasted element pastes with a different stroke weight (.25 to .5) and my corners go from straight to rounded. Settings are all the same, and I restarted Illustrator and my computer.

Any ideas?

Does that happen when you cut and paste in the same document? And/or from one document to another one?

Can you share a sample file and point out some objects that are affected by the issue?

Which version of Illustrator are you using?
