Illustrator Dimension Tool Error [UKFG] Causing Missing Measurements in v30.3 (macOS Sequoia)

Is anyone else experiencing the Dimension tool not working, with the following message coming up in a dialogue box?

“The Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [UKFG]”

Then only half the label shows up; no measurement etc.

Downloaded and running v30.3 on Mac, Sequoia 15.7.5 (can’t use a later OS due to age of Mac)

Any ideas on correcting this, as I do use the Dimension tool a lot!

    Sequoia should be fine (I’m using an even older one).

    Thanks for sharing the details and the recording, I understand how frustrating this can be, especially if you rely on the Dimension tool regularly.

    I tested this on my end with version 30.3 of Illustrator but wasn’t able to reproduce the same behavior. Could you please confirm if this happens only with this specific file or across all files? It would help if you could test the Dimension tool in a brand new file and check if the issue appears there as well.

    If it works fine in a new file, please try moving your artwork into a new document and test again.

    Also, please try manually resetting Illustrator preferences using the steps shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfO7Ixi28oM&t=24s and check if that makes any difference.

     

    Let me know how it goes after trying these.

    Hi Abshiek, this happens with all working files and formats.

    I have also tried manually resetting Illustrator preferences too, but still getting the same result.

    I’m sorry to hear the problem persists. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under a different administrator account (macOS) and after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (macOS) and checking if the problem persists?
