Question

Illustrator "divide objects below" doesn't do anything

I've been using AI for a really long time and today I haven't been able to use the "divide objects below" tool like I normally do. I overlap two shapes/paths together and nothing happens, not even a dialogue box. I did a factory restart for illustrator and nothing has been resolved. Is there something that I am missing here?

1. Select the top object

2. Go to Object menu > Path > Divide Objects Below

3. Voilà!

This does not happen for you? There's nothing about this that would require a dialog box, as far as I can tell. And what Kurt said.

Zukitz,

How about this (the very beginning)?

The "Divide Objects Below" command does not have a dialog.

You may be missing something, as well as me.

Can you provide a sample .ai file including an instruction that may explain what you are going to do there?
