Illustrator errors when saving to hard drive

I have recently set up a new MacBookPro running the latest 13.3.1. In Illustrator 2023 I can not save "due to some enexpected errors" when I try to save most files locally. Seems like saving to the cloud works.

I either get the error, or it crashes. I saw in the forum some users having the issue in the previous OS which was fixed by apple, but haven't seen a current problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you already check the harddrive for hardware issues?

Does Illustrator have full disk access?

Is there sufficient space left on your disk?

Shouldn't be any issues. It was working yesterday after I set up the computer and I have the same issue saving to the desktop or an external drive. One small test file saved to the desktop earlier. Everything else has been a crash or error.
Yes and Yes, plenty of room.

Do you have a printer connected, set up as the default printer and is the printer driver up to date?

Try if turning off Save in Background helps in Preferences > File Handling

I tried changed it. Quit AI, opened a file again, tried to save and it crashed. Didn't even get an error message. Did it twice in a row.

Reset Preferences, reinstall Illustrator, save to desktop are worth trying.

If that does not help, try contacting Adobe support, they can have a look into your system.
