Question

Illustrator: How do I select my new CMYK color profile? I found the hidden solution...

I installed a new profile (ISOnewspaper26v4.icc) in the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder on my Mac.

But Illustrator didn't list it in the Color dialog box (Edit > Colors...).

The solution: Click the [More Options] button (lower left corner of the Color dialog box).

Go back to the CMYK profile menu, scroll down, bingo!

Question to Adobe: Why hide things like this?

I agree, InDesign and Photoshop don't hide these options.

Hi laurentp27457639,

Thank you for sharing the solution you discovered! It can definitely be frustrating when features like this are not immediately visible, especially when you're trying to get work done efficiently.

Your feedback is valuable, and I agree that making such options more accessible would enhance the user experience. I'll pass this along to the team for consideration. In the meantime, I'm glad you found a workaround, and hopefully, this helps others facing the same issue.

If you have any more questions or suggestions, please feel free to share!
