How do I create outlines in Adobe Illustrator on a Microsoft computer?

    Are you referring to outlining a stroke or a text or something else?

    The functions are in Object > Path > Outline stroke

    Type > Create Outlines

      I should have specified better. I want to create an outline around text. I typed my name three times for an assignment with different fonts, and then I have to outline them. I went to view and clicked outlines, and then it created a box around the text. Would that be correct?
