Hi Everybody,

I have a big problem.. I work in illustrator with png / clipart images ... Since a couple of days my "elements" keep disappearing I can only see the bounding box or jagged lines. I did an update.. open a new file.. nogthing helps.

Can someone help, please? I am losing it.

in the end resetting the preferences did the trick. I had to redo everything but at least the mistake does not occur anymore.

Thank you for the hint!

Does that also happen with older PNGs that used to work?

Does it look better in CPU preview?

Did you already reboot the computer?

Please tell us your system and Illustrator version.

Hi Monika,

it happens with pngs that I have always used and also images that I import from PS. I am in CPU preview, no changes.

I mad an AI update yesterday but no success it happened again.

I did not ry a reebt of the computer...

I would then first reboot the computer.

And reset the preferences if the reboot does not fix it.

For resetting the preferences:  quit Illustrator and then rename the preferences folder. This can be made undone in case it doesn't work.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
