Illustrator is saving PDF as black and white/grayscale

Hi all,

I am trying to save a PDF in Illustrator. However it is being saved as black and white/grayscale, when I need it to be saved with color. The document shows up fine in the program itself, while all the color is gone as I look at it in Finder. Is there any way i can get it to save in color again?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: the color looks to be fine if i open the document in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Not sure why it is looking different in Finder (i'm using a Mac, in case that makes any difference.)

Can you check all the options when saving?

Also: in which app do you view it? Have you checked the viewing options?

yes, i can check all options when saving.

not sure if you were able to see yet, but i made a note saying that the file looks fine when i open it in Acrobat Pro. So i guess all is well? not sure why it looks different in Finder.

Thanks for your quick response!

You can't rely on Finder or Preview or any of the other not specifically prepress enabled PDF viewers.
