Illustrator is stuck in a loop asking to reset preferences

Question

Whenever I open Adobe Illustrator, it always has an error message and needs to be closed.

I have attached the crash report for reference.

Later on, it recommends resetting my preferences. This happens every time I open Illustrator and nothing changes. I am stuck in a loop.

I tried reinstalling, didn't work. I tried unchecking the “Read-only (Only applies to files in folder)” in the AppData > Roaming > Adobe, it also didn't work.

Is there another way to fix this? Thanks!

Once you use the tool, make sure you download a fresh new installer of Illustrator. Don’t use the previous installer. Better yet, empty the trash of that old downloaded Installer as that may be corrupted.
