Illustrator issues

Since the last Illustrator update, I've had several issues with the program's performance. Loading Illustrator has slowed drastically, saving takes a solid 3 minutes to complete, using any distort and transform options (specifically plucker and bloat, roughen, and zig zag) either freezes the program or crashes it, and just today using the type option; the program decided to format my type the way it felt like and made the tracking extremely spaced in between each character. I've no idea how to remedy this....
