Illustrator 'Jumps' w/OSX auto-hide menu bar set...

Hello & thanks in advance,

I am trying to stop both Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 from 'jumping' out of the way of the OSX menu bar.  I have the menu bar set to auto-hide and when I slide the mouse up to reveal the menu, both apps jump down and out of the way, then jump back up once the menu hides again.

Anyone know how to stop this behavior?

Thanks,

Rick

Hi Rick,

If I get the issue, your Illustrator and Photoshop jump out from the menu bar, which is set to auto-hide, when you use your mouse to see it? What is the version if OS you are using? I believe auto-hide was introduced with El Capitan. If you have an OS same or later than that, I would advice to disable the auto hide feature. CS6 apps are old and not tested on later versions of Mac OS.  At times they create more issues.

It would be better option than to downgrade the OS or upgrade the CS6 apps to CC 2017.

Thanks Om,

Never even considered this. First saw difference while using another persons system, also with El Cap and auto-hide set, that runs CS5.  Under that environment auto-hide does not force AI or PS to jump out of the way.  Must be something you folks implemented in CS6 that created this non-standard OSX UI behavior.  Never seen this in any other application.

Really like the uncluttered look of auto-hide so I guess its time to look at upgrading to CC.

Thanks again,

Rick

Guessing you are in El Capitan or newer.

Wouldn't  turning this setting off give what you ask for?
