Illustrator keeps crashing after update 2022

I recently updated both my Mac (to monterey) and Adobe (to 2022) because both were starting to lag. HOWEVER, I can't even get into Illustrator now. It loads with the notification that 'Adobe closed unexpectedly) generally the screen behind is the grey but occasionally I can see the projects I was working on prior to the update. If I click 'okay or cancel' it crashes. If I'm lucky enough to get past that, as soon as click on anything on the screen it will immediatly crash. I've forced quit x1000 times, restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing seem to changes. HELP!
