Illustrator keeps crashing, potential GPU issues

Hi Everyone,

In the last several days, Illustrator has crashed several times a day. Sometimes it crashes without me even using it actively. Sometimes after the crash I get a notification that there is an issues with GPU performance.

My laptop has two GPUs but I am not sure how to properly utilize that.

I am a bit new to fixing these kind of issues myself, so I would greatly appreciate any help!

My Set Up:

Laptop: Omen transcend 14

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 185H (2.50 GHz)

RAM: 32 GB

Available storage: 1.8 TB

GPU: Intel(R) Arc(TM) and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070

Ilustrator Version: 29.71

What I have tried so far:

- Reset Illustrator Preferences

- Update computer

- Intstalled GPU Drivers: NVIDIA Studio Driver 580.97 | Windows 11 and
Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.7028

- Change settings in the NVIDIA control panel (Manage 3D settings > Program Settings > Illustrator > High-performance NVIDIA processor)

- Decactivate GPU zoom (I would really like to be able to use it again)

I have the GPU drivers installed but I don’t fully understand how they work and if I need to do anything with them.

I also think that the changed settings in the NVIDIA control panel did not have any impact (in the task manger there is no activity being logged)

Thank you

Hey @Gwendolyn23983428lknp,

I totally get how frustrating those crashes can be—especially when you're in the middle of something important. Would you mind giving the steps in this article a try to see if they help? (https://adobe.ly/4mLdZIk)

Also, if you could submit the crash report using your Adobe email and share the Adobe ID used to submit the report here or via DM, that’ll help us track it faster. (https://adobe.ly/4mGPxaN)

Looking forward to hearing from you.
