illustrator keeps crashing when i type a url

Question

I'm using the newest version of Illustrator (27.4) and when creating a graphic, it always crashing when I type a URL. Not when I try to make it clickable/interactive, when I simply type the URL into the body text.

It's a very simple blue background, white text graphic, so not sure why it would overwhelm it so much to the point of crashing?

This happens on both my Macbook Pro and iMac in the newest versions of Illustrator (27.4). iMac specs: 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9

So you just enter text and then Illutrator crashes? Always in the same file or in all files?

Which font? And does it happen with any font?

How large is the text?

Any effects applied to it?

How much RAm is there in your computer?
