Illustrator.

Working with strokes in Illustrator, it is not possible to activate the dashed line option in the panel to create a new one. In files from previous versions that already have a dashed line, it is preserved and can be modified, but it cannot be deactivated.

designalis,

May I ask whether the issue was ever solved?

designalis,

I believe it may be one of the known kinds of corruption.

There are different kinds of corruption, some temporary.

In the hope of temporary ones, you can try to close down and reopen the application, then the application and the computer (on rare occasions in the past it has been several times but hardly now). You may have done that already in the course of your work.

One is a corruption of a document; you can see whether the error also occurs in a new document.

Instead of just starting over in a new file, you can try to copy the artwork from the ailing one, first in one go, and failing that in parts; you can start with one half or so, Undo being your friend, and then you can see how much you can rescue, and how much you have to redo.

Another one is preference corrupttion; you can reset the preferences as described in the following link.

If you have customized settings that you wish to keep, first create a backup of these setting as described.
